FIFA Set to Announce Partnership with 2K Sports

Is it finally happening?

Following FIFA’s long-standing partnership with sports gaming publisher Electronic Arts, the football governing body’s next move has been a subject of speculation. One particularly intriguing rumor surfaced last year was FIFA’s alleged negotiations with 2K Sports for a potential collaboration.

At the time, this was just a rumor circling the sports gaming world following EA’s official announcement that it would part ways with FIFA. However, sources have revealed to Sports Gamers Online that a deal is likely to be sealed between the two companies.

FIFA and 2K Partnership

Sources told Sports Gamers Online this is more than a rumor; it’s possibly a legitimate partnership that both companies will likely announce soon.

The partnership details will ensure that 2K Sports develops the next officially licensed FIFA game. With this information making its rounds across multiple social media platforms, I’m sure many questions about this upcoming football game have been asked.

The big questions

At this point, it is still being determined whether 2K Sports will develop a non-simulation title or opt for its traditional sports approach. A simulation sports title seems unlikely, given that the NBA 2K publisher doesn’t have the right to FIFPro, which would ensure player likenesses, clubs, stadiums, etc.

The official details of the collaboration will be very interesting to see what approach 2K Sports will take for its first football game. While we still need more information about FIFA’s new football series, having another game to rival EAFC for football supremacy will be great. As of now, we don’t know when the deal will be announced, but as soon as we find out, you will hear it first on Sports Gamers Online.
